HOW DOES PLASMA PEN WORK?
A plasma flash, known as an arc, creates small micro wounds in the area using a pen-shaped device.
The flash induces the formation of tiny, brown carbon spots or crusts resembling freckles, which naturally fall off within a few days.
Subsequently, skin cells increase collagen production by up to 400 times the normal rate.
Results of skin tightening become apparent within one to two weeks and continue to improve over the next three months.
An eye treatment typically lasts around 45 minutes, while larger areas may require up to 120 minutes.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
The treatment is generally painless, with the initial recommendation of applying a topical numbing cream.
Patients may experience a slight warm pricking sensation. Following the procedure, the area is likely to be red and swollen for three days after the treatment. During the healing process, we advise against applying make-up or cosmeceuticals to the area.
Micro-crusts usually heal spontaneously within 3- 5 days, accompanied by possible itching as the skin heals. Some side effects may include slight tenderness for a few weeks after the treatment. It is crucial to avoid sun exposure and apply sunscreen to any exposed areas.
HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
New collagen will continue to form over the next three months and benefits will last typically 1-2 years. This is a single treatment, but depending on the skin laxity, more than one treatment may be required.
