Anti-Ageing Treatments
Anti-ageing treatments in our Perth skin clinic are focused on five main areas.
Pigmentation, wrinkles, redness, texture and pore size all contribute to the health and appearance of our complexion.
This case study demonstrates how 6 treatments over 12 weeks can achieve great results.
A quick injection or surgery may help to improve a wrinkle but the focus at The Skin Studio is treat all five conditions so your skin looks and feels the best it can.
Jodie’s story
Jodie is a 53 year old, professional executive and a single mum who felt it was time to focus on her own well-being. She was feeling tired and run-down and felt that her skin was looking the same.
As a golf-lover, the age spots were becoming more prominent and entering into menopause she felt like she had aged 10 years overnight.
Jodie hadn’t had any clinical treatments before, just the odd facial. At home she was using some basic, department store skincare.
The consultation included all internal, environmental and lifestyle factors that may impact her skin journey.
Using our advanced, diagnostic technology, we assessed all five ageing concerns. Jodie’s main request was to lighten and brighten her skin.
Anti-ageing treatments performed
Jodie’s 12 week anti-ageing treatment program included
IPL REJUVENATION (Three treatments)
IPL is the quickest way to lift unwanted pigmentation to lighten and brighten the skin.
SKIN NEEDLING (Three treatments)
Collagen induction therapy is an excellent treatment for skin laxity, improving texture and minimizing fine lines.
PIGMENTATION PEEL (One treatment)
This salicylic peel, helps to clear the pores, improve tone and texture.
During each of the treatments above we included a 20 minute LED session, using two wavelengths at the same time.
By adding LED to each treatment, we can speed up results and reduce down-time.
For Jodie, we used a combination of Red Light for Pigmentation and rejuvenation and Near-Infrared Light for hydration, inflammation and radiance.
Home care provided
“Using a basic beauty brand is a bit like going to the gym and buying a Big Mac on the way home,” her therapist explained.
A few small tweaks to her current skin care program and introducing cosmeceuticals would turbo-charge her results.
As Jodie didn’t want to fuss with too many new products, a simple but powerful skin care routine was recommended.
A Retinol (Aspect Dr Exfol A) to use in the evening and a Vitamin C (Aspect Dr Active C) to use in the morning, coupled with a cosmeceutical Cleanser and Moisturiser.
Results achieved
It’s not right or even OK, that we look in the mirror and start picking faults, but we all do it.
The most important change Jodie gained was she was feeling about herself. The comments she has received from friends have boosted her confidence.
The chart below shows the diagnostics and the reduction in the five ageing concerns.
Huge improvements were made in colour, tone and texture.
