Micro Needling Perth

The Next Generation in Skin Needling

The World’s First Electroporation combined with Skin Needling has arrived at The Skin Studio.

This latest technology provides improved results with less downtime.

An active cocktail of ingredients are delivered right into the heart of your skin cells in two ways:

  1. Mechanically, as with traditional skin needling, through creating physical channels
  2. Chemically with Electric Current to drive ingredients into your cells

Our clients have found better results, less redness at the end of the treatment and much faster healing time.

The History

The first microneedling technique dates back to 1995 but it was Dr Fernandes in 2006 who developed a drum shaped wheel that was rolled over the skin and was able to prove that the dermis and epidermis had become thicker.

Since those early days, Skin Needling has become the premier treatment for anti-ageing and clinical studies show that Skin Needling gives superior results to IPL and Laser with over 150% – 200% improvement in skin rejuvenation.

Microneedling is the only skin rejuvenation treatment to target three key skin cells (keratinocyte, melanocyte and fibroblast) to initiate a cascade of growth factors that result in new collagen production.

Dermal Rollers vs Micro-needling

We often get asked what is the difference between using a dermal roller and a clinical micro-needling device.

Apart from the obvious infection control issues and risks associated with home needling there are many key differences.

WITH DERMAL ROLLERS

  • Angle Needle entry creates large and round-shaped wounds
  • Can produce scratches, scarring, more irritation and pain
  • Longer patient down time and recovery
  • High risk of the needle bending
  • Not possible to adapt the needle depth to different treatment zones
  • Difficult to access small areas like eyes and lip contours
  • High risk of complications with some medical conditions and skin types

MICRO-NEEDLING

  • Safe to treat all skin types and colours
  • Fully adjustable needle depth from 0.01mm to 2.00ml which means different skin conditions (like scarring) can be treated successful.
  • Sharp, high quality 33G needles enter vertically creating better quality channels.
  • Quicker recovery time with less trauma to the skin
  • Topical anesthetic can be used for patient comfort

What is Electroporation?

Electroporation is produced by a electrical current pulse which opens the cell membranes.

This means any substance applied to the skin surface will be absorbed into the skin cells.

When used together with microneedling the effectiveness is increased by 200%

The technology is used in the field of DNA therapy and cellular gene transfer and has many advantages over galvanic, sonophoresis and ultrasound to deliver active ingredients into the dermis.
